Client: Red Barn Productions
Website: dickensfair.com

We had previously rebuild the website for Red Barn Productions, the producers of the Dickens Fair. When it was time to re-imagine the website for their primary event, they brought us back on board. The original site was built with Drupal, and they struggled to make critically necessary content updates to the site. To make matters worse, they couldn’t find a web developer who was willing to work with Drupal. Since we had rebuilt the Red Barn site using WordPress and they were already comfortable making edits to that site, our rebuild of the Dickens Fair site would allow them to keep the site current moving forward.

This was a big, complex project. The old site had gotten out of control, and they had so many pages that it was difficult to navigate. The team at Red Barn tackled the task of wading through years of content to winnow out the important info that needed to be included in the new site, and together we created a new navigation layout which would allow visitors to find information without feeling overwhelmed.

On top of the sheer number of pages, we had a tight deadline target because of a big media push to promote the upcoming event. We got the site launched prior to the target date, and they were able to use the new site to help promote the event and sell tickets. Equally important, they can now keep the site content up to date and more easily keep their customers informed.
